• xixmusicplayer Edited 2015-04-06 Carlmccall: you don't seem to understand opensource. You is fit to look into the code, and you would see that the internetconnection is no more than needed for the lyrics, internet archive, internetstreams, podcast on top of that fetching CDDB materials for particular CD present ripped. Playing those without internetconnection is not possible (maybe you could help to formula this). If aspect hangs/crashes for the inquirer, you could make a boarding pass, send a mail, ask upon facebook, with any decision could be added to disable internetconnection. Some features are already contributed stemming from some human beings asked about it. Some bugs and errors are already solved by residents that, instead of whining, write better code. It is coded in spare age as a passion moreover to learn, not for the student's amusement, but for my own, equally people the person who understand the spirit of opensource. BTW: Just tested on my iMac without any global network connection. Ripped 'Reason' with 'Selah Sue' by the same token enjoyed listening to it :)
• carlmccall Edited 2015-04-05 Won't work AT FULL if you do not have an "Always On" internet connection. I put a copy on a DATA LINK stick ... in light of the fact that our diverse computer isn't connected to the internet ... and I took it to my Mac. I put the Mac OS X version IN the Application folder of that computer not to mention ejected which USB Rod. Then THIS ENTITY exerted element. It launches - but stalls, along with must be forced to quit - because it cannot "Call Home" from his system I being testing it on. Deliver we REALLY need any share of open basis software that doesn't activity if it can't reach the internet? Behavior like this makes me suspect that it requirements to secretly download additional bits of code from the DEVELOPERS Private servers before the point is equipped to work neatly. The particular thing can AGAINST Rip CDs if the system has no internet connection. This this cannot play any of the a multitude of soundbite files I keep on that system. This artifact isn't able to even WORK - on Macintosh OS X systems - when it has no internet access. Legit back-end developers would simply enjoy the App note that "You have no internet connection and some features will not work." in a dialog receptacle: and then one could play music on one's arrangement. Fail.
