Karan Shergill (Hrithik Roshan), a dynamic stripling with no aim in life, lives in The city of peace with his parents reliant on their income. Karan is in love joined by a beautiful girl named Romi (Preity Zinta), a student activist whose keeps pushing Karan to harbor a goal in life. Inspired by case including his friends, Karan fuses the Indian Military Academy (IMA) but soon runs away from there considering that of whose resolute military discipline, which illustrates very unusual for him. Romi gets very upset through the news coupled with breaks her relationship on top of him, which makes Karan rejoin IMA. Post- completing his training, Karan enlists in Indian army under Col Sunil Damle (Amitabh Bachchan). Meanwhile, he gets shattered with the news that Romi is deriving engaged. Later on a while, Romi ventures to Kargil as a war correspondent coupled with feels good to meet a changed Karan, who is fighting a war because of his state. Will Karan and Romi be together again?
